Lock screen

All of a sudden my thumbprint isn't working to unlock my phone and it won't even let me press the home button to access my passcode. I can press it once, or I can press it a million times either way that passcode aint popping up. I actually have to slide over to access the camera, click on view all photos, and the passcode screen finally pops up. Is anyone else having this problem? is there any way I can fix it? my home button works, there's nothing wrong with it. Only when I'm on the lock screen does it have a problem.
